Валянцін Стэфановіч — сябра Рады "Вясны", віцэ-прэзідэнт Міжнароднай федэрацыі за правы чалавека (FIDH). З’яўляецца адным з вядомых экспертаў і аналітыкаў у сферы правоў чалавека, выступае за недыскрымінацыю і супраць смяротнага пакарання. Да Валянціна з вобшукам сілавікі прыйшлі ранкам 14 ліпеня 2021 г., канфіскавалі ўсю тэхніку, а самаго праваабаронцу павезлі на допыт, пасля чаго змясцілі пад варту. 3 сакавіка 2023 г. у судзе Ленінскага раёна, намесніку старшыні "Вясны" і віцэ-прэзідэнту FIDH Валянціну Стэфановічу было прызначана 9 гадоў калоніі ва ўмовах узмоцненага рэжыму. 30 красавіка 2023 г. праваабаронцу перавялі з СІЗА-1 у папраўчую калонію № 15.

Гісторыя пераследу

Valiantsin Stefanovic is a member of the Viasna Board and the vice-president of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH). He is a well-known human rights expert and analyst advocating non-discrimination and abolition of death penalty. The law enforcers came to his apartment in the morning of July 14, 2021. On September 26, 2022, it became known that the criminal charges of ‘tax evasion’ under Part 2 of Article 243 of the Criminal Code against Valiantsin Stefanovic, Ales Bialiatski, Uladzimir Labkovich, and other Viasna members were dropped. On March 3, 2023, in the Lieninski District Court of Minsk, Valiantsin Stefanovich, the deputy chairman of Viasna and the vice-president of FIDH, was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment in a medium-security penal colony.
